Housing Coordinator - Chicago

This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual who seeks a job combining customer service, student counseling, and logistics. The Housing Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating host family and dorm accomodations, working closely with the Customer Service team to communicate these placements, recruiting new host families, and following through with all housing inquiries and matters. This position requires an abillity to multi-task as well as to keep the big picture in mind. The collection and processing of payments are also important functions of this position.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Coordinate student housing placements by working directly with overseas agents and the Customer Service team to manage reservations, payment, and additional services for students     

  •  Work closely with vendors to ensure excellent service to our students 

  •  Recruit host families and maintain relationships with Kaplan Aspect host families

  • Coordinate dormitory placements and services, including student meal plans

  • Respond to any maintenance, safety, and/or disciplinary issues in the dormitory

  • Work closely with IIT campus housing staff and on-site Resident Advisor to ensure a positive on-campus living experience

  • Assist with billing, accounts receivable, and payment processing for all housing vendors and host families

  • Work closely with other team members to provide the best operations and experiences for students

  • Coordinate the arrival and departure of international students, including all airport transfers

  • Advise, counsel, and guide international students

  • Help students understand rules and policies, and aid in their adjustment to American life

  • Assist School Director with administration of Kaplan Aspect classes as needed

Qualifications and Education:

4-year degree required

Experience required: Customer service, preferably in a similar field
