OPUS programme wins award

We are pleased to announce that the Kaplan Aspect OPUS programme has won the prestigious Language Travel Magazine ‘Star School Innovation Award’ for 2007.

Our OPUS Paid Work and Study programme combines short and long term English language courses with paid work. We offer part time and full time work in Retail and Hospitality in cities all over the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Students can now live, study and work in English!

Over the course of this year, we have had excellent feedback from our students and employers.  We have seen our markets expand across the world. And, in response to requests from both students and agents, we have increased our course options.

OPUS pictureNow we’d like to clarify a question which agents always ask: Why ‘OPUS’? What does it mean? Well, it’s easy to remember and pronounce, and most importantly means ‘work’ in Latin. OPUS was actually the brainchild of our CEO, David Jones.  He had the vision to see that many students on long term courses really needed to work in order to fund their experience abroad. And, of course, parents around the world are extremely grateful as their kids can through paid work now contribute to the expenses of their overseas stay.

This year has been an exciting time for the OPUS team, as we have faced the challenge of establishing our programme in the market and we now look forward to developing and extending our courses to agents globally.
