Course Facts

We offer two Work and Study programs in New Zealand:

OPUS English New Zealand

Improve your English speaking, listening, writing and reading skills, gain customer service skills and acquire language for the workplace during a part-time paid work placement.

Length: 6 or 9 months

Recommended ages: 18 – 30

Minimum rates of pay per hour: NZD11.25

Minimum English level: Lower Intermediate with good spoken English

Hours of tuition per week: 21 hours/week

Locations: Auckland and Christchurch

Start dates: Jan 7, Mar 24*, Apr 14, Jun 23, Sep 29, Oct 20*

*Not available for OPUS 9-month program

OPUS Working Holiday New Zealand

We offer a special program for Working Holiday Visa holders only. Study English for up to 12 or 16 weeks then start a paid work placement.

Length: Up to 16 weeks + job offer**

Recommended ages: 18 – 30

Minimum English level: Lower Intermediate with good spoken English

Locations: Auckland and Christchurch

Start dates: Every Monday

**Students must complete the required number of English weeks prior to being placed in a job.

Application

Apply in 5 easy steps:

  1. Request and complete an application form, available from your Kaplan Aspect representative
  2. Upon receipt of your application we will send you our free English test and let you know your current English level
  3. We will request an electronic version of your CV written in English
  4. We will then arrange a telephone interview to test your spoken English
  5. Once you have followed the steps above and we have received payment of the program fees and for any accommodation you wish to book with us, we will send you a booking confirmation and Letter of Acceptance so that you can apply for a student visa if necessary.

Fees

The program fees listed below include tuition and job placement only. You will also need to budget for accommodation and spending money. However, the money you earn will help you to afford some of your expenses.
