Cambridge is very flat which is great for cycling and means that there are more bicycles per head of population than anywhere else in Britain. The flatness also results in winds that blow right across the city and can be particularly strong between October and April. A warm coat will therefore be useful and you'd better hold on to your hat!
Cambridge is the driest place in the country. That said you may still find an umbrella comes in useful because when it rains, it really does rain!
Cambridge is also a sunny place compared to many parts of the country, so even in November and December we are lucky to have lots of bright days. If you visit between May and September, you can expect a lot of sunshine and warm days.
