Homestay accommodation is ideal for students who want to learn about and immerse themselves in a different culture. Sharing meals with your hosts every day, you'll benefit from speaking English in relaxed, natural situations; a great way to learn English! Known for its temperamental microclimates, San Francisco neighbourhoods less than a mile apart can either be sunny or foggy depending on the weather pattern and season. The best time of year is autumn, when consistently sunny, warm and bright days are almost 100% guaranteed. The average temperature is about 25C, although heat waves into the 30Cs are not uncommon. Winter tends to be cooler and rainier with average temperatures of about 10C. San Francisco does not get any snow and temperatures seldom drop below 0C. Spring is mild with an average temperature of about 15C. There will be a mix of rain and sunshine at this time of year, with occasional hot spells in the mid 20Cs. The summer season sees a mix of rain, sun and fog with temperatures anywhere from 10C to 25C. The days will start quite overcast and cool, but will warm up with lots of sunshine and then get cooler when the fog starts to roll over the city around 5pm.
