Kaplan International Colleges Work and Travel is a designated DS-2019 exchange visitor program responsible for sponsoring J-1 summer Work & Travel visas for students to visit the USA and work for a host US employer up to a maximum 4 month period (with an additional 30 day stay for leisure). We are a comprehensive J-1
Work & Travel program, providing job placements, travel insurance, arrival orientation, social activities, assistance with social security card applications, 24 hours emergency support, on-site local coordinator / group leader, and accommodation arrangements (upon request) to our participants and host US employers. Kaplan International Colleges Work & Travel has staff and job placements all across the USA, including regional offices based in Los Angeles and New York City, as well as our administrative team in San Diego.
Program Requirements
- Applicants must be current full-time students pursuing a degree program at an accredited university.
- Applicant is only permitted to seek to participate on the J1 program during their university summer break (a maximum 4 month period).
- Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years the ages at the time they apply for their visa.
- Applicants must have adequate English skills to communicate and function day to day in a US work place.
- Applicants must be in good physical and mental health, and display a high level of maturity, and be capable of living and working independently.
- Applicants must have access to adequate funds of no less than $1000 to cover the cost of their first month of living expenses in the US.
